Understanding Your Analytics

Overview Dashboard

Understand your podcast's download trends, listener geography, and device breakdown.

The Overview Dashboard is the first thing you see when you open BuzzyPod. It gives you a high-level snapshot of how your podcast is performing. Data is updated through yesterday.

Summary stats

At the top of the page, you'll see summary cards with key metrics:

  • Total Downloads — your all-time download count across all episodes
  • Average Per Episode — helps you understand your baseline performance
  • Total Episodes — the total number of published episodes for your podcast
  • Downloads Last 7 Days — your total downloads in the last 7 days, with a percentage change compared to the prior 7-day period
  • Downloads Last 30 Days — your total downloads in the last 30 days, with a percentage change compared to the prior 30-day period
  • Downloads Last 90 Days — your total downloads in the last 90 days

These numbers update as new download data comes in.

This chart shows your total daily downloads over the last 90 days as an area chart, highlighting daily download trends across all episodes.

Use this to spot patterns like:

  • Which days of the week get the most downloads
  • How a new episode release affects your overall numbers
  • Whether your audience is growing, steady, or declining over time

Platforms & Devices

See what platforms and devices your listeners are using, based on data from the last 30 days. This section has two interactive pie charts:

  • Listening Platforms — the apps used to listen, such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Overcast, and others
  • Devices — the hardware types used to listen, such as mobile, desktop, smart speaker, etc.

Each chart shows the top 5 entries with an "Other" bucket for everything else. Hover over a slice to see its percentage displayed in the center of the chart. A legend beside each chart shows names with their percentages.

This helps you understand how your audience consumes your content, which can inform decisions about audio quality, show notes formatting, and where to focus your distribution efforts.

Geographic Reach

See where your listeners are located, based on data from the last 30 days. This section has two interactive map cards:

  • Downloads by Country — a world map showing where your downloads come from, with total downloads and count of countries
  • Downloads by U.S. Metro — a U.S. DMA map showing more granular location data for your top listening areas, with total downloads and count of metros

Each card has a Map/List toggle. The map view shows circles on an interactive, zoomable map where circle size and opacity are scaled logarithmically by download count. The list view shows a ranked table of locations with download counts.

This is useful for understanding your audience makeup, planning live events, or targeting sponsorship opportunities in specific markets.
